The Amateurs for #Portraitsproject
The shot in question: –
was taken overlooking Worcester and the cathedral in one of the cities suburb parks.
To recreate the look they liked, we needed to ensure we timed the shoot carefully with the position of the setting sun. Too early and the colours wouldn’t be rich enough or create enough contrast, too late and we wouldn’t have enough ambient light to play with.
Location was also important as I wanted as little distraction as possible.
Have to give a shout out to James Booton and his lovely parents for obtaining access to this planted of field of rapeseed from their neighbouring farm. Very much appreciated.
The textures complimented pretty perfectly and although the sun didn’t blaze in all its glory, I created the contrasts i hoped for using two triggered speedlites with cto gel through Westcott umbreallas.
